Welcome to 2022! This semester I have the honor of taking over Pet of the Month! As an animal lover (and a mom to 12 cats), Pet of the Month is such a fun opportunity for me. Pet of the Month encourages students to submit photos of their pets, whether they are fluffy, scaly, or furry, so without further ado, please enjoy this month’s winner!
With more votes than any other, our January Pet of the Month is… Peek-A-Boo the cat!

As a fellow cat mom, I was happy to tell Emma of Peek-A-Boo’s success!
Q: Peek-A-Boo won this month as the only cat entered, what do you think that says about her furry personality?
A: “She’s a great fur ball of joy, and she is very social and loves to be around people. I think she won because she is one of the sweetest cats in the entire world, and she also loves to pose for the camera!”
Q: How do you feel knowing that Peek-A-boo won? Did you expect her to win?
A: “Yes, I did expect her to win, because she deserves it. She is an old cat, and I think she needs an achievement in her life, and I think winning Pet of the Month is a great one!”
Q: Will you share the good news with the lady herself?
A: “Of course! She deserves to know how loved she is by our Shorecrest Community!”
Both Peek-a-Boo and Emma were a pleasure to have, and I look forward to continuing this section and getting to know all the animals our student body and faculty go home to!
Congratulations on your win, Peek-a-Boo!
Submissions are always open to everyone, and I can’t wait to see what February Pet of the Month brings!
See you guys next month,
In tribute to Peek-A-Boo the cat, who sadly died on January 15, 2022, right after being awarded the honor of Shorecrest’s Pet of the Month. You will be missed.
