Finding out information has sometimes been difficult for our student athletes. Schedules are on TeamSnap, registration forms are on parent portals and early dismissals are always changing. To fix this, the Athletics Department has created a solution: an all-in-one online Charger hub.
During the summer, Assistant Athletic Director Melinda Holmes, Web Developer and Communications Manager Raffi Darrow and Athletic Communications Coordinator Margo Snipe began designing the website with help from HomeCampus — a spin-off organization of the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) — developer Kayla Dempsey. It provides a variety of resources, from rosters to health forms. Athletes and parents are also able to sync their calendars to the website calendar, which contains all games, practices and other events.
Now, dates of important events are easier for parents to access, when they were previously unaware.
“A lot of senior parents didn’t know that we celebrate athletes who are signed to colleges on one special day,” Holmes said.
Additionally, to promote match attendance, tickets are available for purchase online. Live streams are also linked for those who can’t attend matches but still want to support student-athletes. Opportunities to sign up for volunteering at games are also available.
“I thank Shorecrest that they were open to allowing us to create this website and put it out there,” Holmes said. “It resides on the [Shorecrest] website, and it now simplifies things for everyone.”

Normally, Brummett plays defense, but when starting goalie sophomore Kurt Schratweiser missed a match due to illness, Brummett was thrust into the role. “[Brummett] did a great job, especially considering he hadn’t played the position in so long,” Head Coach Casey McDonough said.](https://spschronicle.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image2-1200x800.jpg)
